Our “Nurse of the Month” is chosen for their extraordinary contributions and the positive impact they make on patients, colleagues, and the community.

This is our way of honouring their work—and sharing the stories that inspire us all.

Please join us in congratulating Siteto Phumezo as our Nurse of the Month for November!

To help you get to know Siteto a little better, we asked a few questions about her journey, what motivates her, and what nursing means to her:

What Inspired You To Become A Nurse?

“I truly believe that God chose me to be a nurse. He wanted to use me to make a difference in people’s lives, and He continues to do so every day.

Nursing is a God-given calling. When a baby is born, a nurse is often the first person to see or touch that precious new life, even before the mother. And when someone takes their final breath, it is often a nurse who is there to gently close their eyes.

That is how special and meaningful nursing is to me.”

What Is Your Current Position?

“I am a Professional Nurse, and I have proudly served my people for 12 years.

I call them my people because I take pride and ownership in the care I provide. Every patient matters to me.”

What Is The Most Rewarding Part Of Your Job?

“The most rewarding part of nursing is serving my patients and knowing that I have made a difference.

Nothing brings me greater joy than seeing a patient recover and return home to their loved ones.

And when a patient sadly doesn’t make it, I find comfort in knowing that I gave them my very best.”

Name One Time It Made You Proud To Be A Nurse.

“Every time I am on duty, I feel proud to be a nurse. My workplace feels like my playground because I love what I do.

I feel prepared, confident and ready to face the challenges that come my way.

I believe God has blessed me with a special gift — the ability to bring hope, comfort and healing to others. Through me, God touches the lives of my patients.

Being a nurse is a brand, and I wear that brand with pride!”

What Advice Would You Give To Someone Considering Nursing As A Career?

“One of the biggest challenges in nursing is working with different people, including patients, families, colleagues and multidisciplinary teams. Saving lives also comes with enormous responsibility.

My advice to fellow nurses is simple:

Put God first and always honour and fear Him.

Respect every human being, regardless of their circumstances.

Never be afraid to ask questions when you don’t know something or feel unsure.

Keep learning. Read more, stay curious and always give your best.

Treat everyone the way you would want to be treated.”
