“How Many Years have you been a Nurse?”
I have been a nurse for 27 years
“What inspired you to become a nurse?”
My mum was ill, and we took her to the hospital. During that difficult time, we relied heavily on the nurse for both care and information. Unfortunately, the nurse was cold, dismissive, and showed little compassion. That experience didn’t just inspire me to become a nurse—it motivated me to make a difference in the quality of nursing care.
“What’s the most rewarding part of your job?”
I believe the most rewarding thing about being a nurse is being there for others at their most vulnerable time.
“Can you share a moment that made you proud to be a nurse?”
I admitted an obstetric emergency during a night shift. The mother was bleeding heavily on arrival. A prompt diagnosis was made, and her care was immediately escalated. She was taken to theatre without delay. Thanks to the swift and accurate diagnosis and management, both mother and baby were saved.
“How do you keep motivated during challenging days?”
I stay motivated by reminding myself that I’m fulfilling my purpose – making a meaningful impact on nursing care and driving quality outcomes.
“What advice would you give to someone considering nursing as a career?”
The sky is the limit with what you choose to do in your nursing career. Don’t be limited to the hospital. Travel, diversify, and find your niche. Be the best and bring others to your level
