Our “Nurse of the Month” is chosen for their extraordinary contributions and the positive impact they make on patients, colleagues, and the community.
This is our way of honouring their work – and sharing the stories that inspire us all.
Please join us in congratulating Attila Ndlovu as our Nurse of the Month for November!
To help you get to know Attila a little better, we asked a few questions about her journey, what motivates her, and what nursing means to her:
What Inspired You To Become A Nurse?
“What inspired me to be a nurse is the ability to help someone and I saw how someone can be at their lowest and come back better. I was inspired to make a difference in strangers’ lives and have an impact on improving their lives and those of their families”
What Is Your Current Position?
“I’m a Professional Nurse in a mental wellness facility”
How Many Years Have You Been A Nurse?
“I’ve been a nurse for 7 years”
What Is The Most Rewarding Part Of Your Job?
“The most rewarding aspect is the difference it makes to people’s lives and knowing that it could be lasting and literally save someone’s life.”
Name One Time I Made You Proud To Be A Nurse.
“I remember being at the mall when I ran into a patient and her family whom I didn’t recognise. I had nursed her some time ago, but she still remembered me. It reminded me that even when you’re simply doing your job – if you do it with grace and kindness – it can leave a lasting impact on others.”
How Do You Keep Motivated During Challenging Times?
“My family keeps me motivated. I also prioritise myself by doing things I love and trying out new things, having me time. Pouring in myself so I am abundant and give from a filled cup.”
What Advice Would You Give To Someone Considering Nursing As A Career?
“I would say you should be willing to work with people and able to be flexible but mostly fill yourself up so you can give with ease. Have boundaries, share the work with others. Willing to learn as you can never know everything in nursing.”
