To help you get to know Tinyiko a little better, we asked a few questions about her journey, what motivates her, and what nursing means to her:

What Inspired You To Become A Nurse?

“I never actually planned on becoming a nurse, my first passion was acting and designing. But nursing chose me, and I’ve never looked back. Thanks to my mother for guiding me toward a career in healthcare.”

What Is Your Current Position?

“I am a General Registered Nurse with experience in ICU.”

How Many Years Have You Been A Nurse?

“I have 12 years of experience in nursing, including my time as a student nurse.”

What Is The Most Rewarding Part Of Your Job?

“Making a difference to patients and their loved ones. When families know their loved one is well cared for, it gives them hope—and that’s incredibly rewarding.”

Name One Time I Made You Proud To Be A Nurse.

“I once admitted a patient with severe trauma injuries, and our team worked together to help them return to a normal life. The patient spent a long period in ICU, and we provided quality, holistic care throughout. That experience made me very proud.”

How Do You Keep Motivated During Challenging Times?

“Nursing is a 24-hour service. Trusting my colleagues gives me peace of mind because we all share the same goal. That teamwork motivates me to give the best possible care to our patients.”

What Advice Would You Give To Someone Considering Nursing As A Career?

“There is a big gap in healthcare, and nurses with specialties are needed more than ever. Nursing is vast, meaningful, and it pays well. Be ready to learn every day, enjoy the work, and join us, we need more bright sisters with tenacity and bravery.”
