Job Overview
Provides a comprehensive HR management advisory and operational support service to staff and line management with regards to HR related matters such as such as recruitment, selection, induction, employment contracts, HR policies and procedures, training and development, Performance management, grievances and employees’ fair treatment.
Job Description
Handle all Disciplinary and Grievance Procedures:
- Advise and guide management on any disciplinary and grievance issues
- Draw up charge sheet and facilitate the disciplinary process
- Assist with the enquiry process and ensure lawful correctness to procedures
- Minute and distribute minutes of the disciplinary / grievance enquiries, and ensure lawful compliance during the processes.
- Liaison with shop steward, union correspondence and communication
- Company representative at the CCMA / Bargaining Council
- Promote general well-being within the company (ie be an ambassador)
- Any other related matters
Skills Development and Employment Equity:
- Liaise with management on these issues and assist staff with training needs
- Identify training needs analysis within the company and manage the process
- Responsible for submitting statutory reporting and compliance (WSP/ATR and EE reporting)
- Identify and propose initiatives to support BBBEE improvement
- Company representative for Employment Equity and Skills Development
- Company Skills Development Facilitator for Sector and Training Authority -(Chemical Industries Education and Training Authority) liaison
BBBEE Projects and Verification:
- Ensure Compliance documentation of all BBBEE projects
- Prepare, plan and coordinate the company BBBEE verification process
- Implementation of BBBEE HR projects (job shadowing, learnerships etc.) as agreed with business based on budget allocation
- Facilitate and coordinate the company verification process annually
- Act as liaison for business with verification company and organize, submit and communicate all required information to the audit company
Reporting:
- Timeous and accurate reporting of WSP and EE reporting for RXP/ RXSA/Sonke and maintaining process of compliance
- Monthly and ad hock HR reporting for Ranbaxy SA (RXP and RXSA)
General HR programmed and correspondence:
- Supporting business in maximizing manpower efficiencies especially on the Plant (lowering absenteeism, employee late comings, and feedback to business on conducted exit interviews etc.)
- Facilitate the lawful compliance to Employment Equity Act, Skills Development and Levies Acts, Occupational Health and Safety and all statutory requirements of Basic Conditions of Employment Act and Labor Relations Act.
Learnerships:
- Supervision of Learnerships on site
Assessment and Planning of Work:
- 10% of work is routine operational maintenance and coordination
- Immediate supervisor generates 30% work for projects requiring HR officer involvement.
- Interface with other people within the department or external to the company generate 60% of the work.
- Priorities are prescribed by specific industry deadlines and internally are planned with respective departments as per the urgency of the information required or the potential effect on the business

Minimum Requirements
Minimum Educational Qualifications required:
- 3-year Human Resources / Sciences Degree / diploma
- Accredited SDF (Skills Development Facilitator) qualification
- Must have either a LLB or employee relations degree with labour law as a major
Minimum years of Experience required:
- 5 years generalist experience
Technical Competencies:
- Computer skills – MS Office, email, internet, SAP, VIP
- Knowledge of SA Labor legislative framework
- HR background and understanding of a manufacturing and unionized environment
- Employment laws and practices
