Job Description
- Strong quality patient care orientation
- BLS competent
- Supervise and orientate junior staff members and students
- Perform teaching rounds with junior staff members and students
- Competent in physical assessment
- Ability to interpret the ABG’s and ECG’s
- Competent in administration of medication and IV medication
- Provide health education to parents and patients
- High energy levels and tolerance for stress/pressure
- Problem analysis/solving skills and accurate record keeping
- Adaptable and able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and independently
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels
- Ability to render basic and advanced nursing care without supervision
- Ability to identify and manage stroke patients
Minimum Requirements
- Current Registration with SANC as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum 2 -3 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse
- Proven experience in a Trauma Unit of at least one year
- Current BLS Certification
- Previous experience in a Private Hospital is advantageous
- Ventilator competency is essential
- Shift work compulsory
- Work overtime when required
- Be flexible and willing to assist in other departments
