The National Sales Manager for Commercial will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing effective sales strategies to ensure the sales target is achieved
- Leading national sales team to achieve sales targets
- Establishing productive and professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts
Job Description
Strategy:
- Develop and implement effective sales strategy
- Develop sales plans for the commercial portfolio by identifying key opportunities and the specific actions to realise them in accordance with the strategy and tactics defined.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts
Data analytics:
- Analyse and monitor data behind competitor actions to determine the opportunities and risks for commercial portfolio as well as to make appropriate recommendations to maximise opportunities and mitigate potential risks.
- Perform research and identify new potential customers and new market opportunities
Customer engagement:
- Customer relationship management – establishing close relations with KOL’s to achieve a competitive advantage
- Attending representative initiatives to engage with clients
Team Management:
- Lead a high performing sales team delivering on sales goals through quality customer interactions in conjunction HR and talent development initiatives.
- Provide supervision through field visits, observations and measurements of results to include performance appraisals and salary reviews
- Coach and develop team to continuously enhance capabilities.
- Facilitates individual development plans
- Monitor and analyse performance metrics and implement performance management process where necessary
- Ensure incentive compensation plans are aligned to brand strategies and performance targets
Reporting:
- Provide reports to management on growth planning in future years in respect of current and future products, customers and territories.
- Provide reports as requested by the senior team
Minimum Requirements
Core Competencies:
- Excellent communication skills: Bilingual (Fluent in English and Afrikaans / Speak read and write)
- Ability to challenge, influence, contract and drive change
- Building efficient relations with various internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit and orientation towards solutions, challenging the status quo in the right way
Functional/Technical Skills or Industry Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business with at least 5 years’ experience managing a sales force
- Commercial sales experience is non-negotiable
- Demonstrated ability to achieve sales strategy
- Solid understanding of healthcare and regulatory requirements and issues
- Solid customer service attitude with exceptional negotiation skills
- Ability to build positive working relationships, both internally and externally
- Ability to effectively present information with all levels of management
- Extensive travel is required
