The Warehouse Manager role will be responsible for all warehousing functions, inclusive of stock management and movements, staff as well as efficient operation of the Johannesburg warehouse
The Warehouse Manager also plays a crucial role in ensuring adherence to the internal Health and Safety program relevant to the business
This position will also oversee and manage the logistics function and be responsible for the day-today 3PL relationship, ensuring adherence to the SLA and Master Service agreement nationally
This position is a critical line of support to the HOD, from whom all reasonable requests should be executed in line with expectation and job function
FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Budgeting & planning:
Assist with preparing and controlling all warehouse-, distribution- and site-related operational expenses for budgeting input and monthly cost control
Review of deviations and relevant corrective actions
Day-to-day management of the 3PL partner on a national basis against SLA, any special requests / instructions, and resolving deviations. This includes deliveries to customers, reverse logistics, and inter-warehouse movements
Management of cross-border deliveries for the business
Monthly review and analysis of 3PL account summary against KPI’s, track and report on trends and deviations
Accountability for stock losses /gains against approved annual budgets, based on:
Management of wall-to-wall stock takes and cycle count activities for the Johannesburg warehouse according to SOP’s and published count schedule. Includes monthly reporting on all substantial variances in stock count to HOD, and investigation of discrepancies.
Picking and dispatch accuracy, including resolution of variances.
Receiving accuracy, including escalation of receiving variances.
Adherence to all relevant SOPs and general good practice
Minimise stock obsolescence through FIFO stock flow management and early identification of damages, expiry risks.
Performance analysis, root-cause analysis of deviations, and reporting against KPIs.
Ensure adherence to and execution of all Warehouse SOP’s and general good practice.
Control of any reworks (internal and external) including related service providers.
Control of obsolete stock, including reporting / analysis and disposal in line with SOP.
Reverse logistics management:
Ensuring adherence to SOP with no exceptions.
Managing returns clerk/technician and ensuring all returns are done and processed correctly within target timelines.
Resolution of customer claims.
Ensure month end close off procedures are followed for the company to submit supplier warranty claims.
Site, security, & safety management:
Implementation of and responsibility for good housekeeping in warehouses.
Ensure safe working ethic is applied by living the Health and Safety standards.
Site security and access control as per agreed standards at CPT and JHB sites.
Responsibility for site maintenance and related suppliers and service providers.
Responsibility for general consumables and related suppliers.
Ensuring all warehouse staff are working according to SOPs and performing their tasks correctly and diligently.
Conduct staff performance evaluations against KPIs and drive remedial action where necessary.
Supervise and upskill staff.
Set the standard by living the company Ethos.
Reporting & Administrative:
Providing reporting to Management where necessary.
Processing orders, if required.
Relevant university degree or relevant NQF level diploma in logistic/warehouse management.
5-10 years’ experience in Warehouse/Logistics Management.
Previous experience in management of staff and IR.
Previous experience of 3PL management.
Strong Business administration knowledge.
SAGE X3 experience preferred.
Above-average Excel skills, comfortable in Microsoft Applications.
Willingness to work overtime or weekends if required.
You will be required to travel.
