Theatre Scrub Technician – 6 Month Contract – Johannesburg & Pretoria, Gauteng

Duties & Responsibilities 

Assisting surgeons & theatre nurses in theatre with surgical techniques and following the correct theatre case process

After-sales service (following up with surgeons after cases to determine ease of use and dislikes)

Submitting product complaint reports to the relevant Manager

Providing feedback to surgeons

Maintaining relationships with Hospital Theatre Matrons, Pharmacy Managers, CSSD and relevant hospital theatre staff

On-call – standing in for colleagues as and when required

Hand instruments and supplies to surgeons or surgeons assistant

Competently do a surgical scrub of hands

Wash equipment using germicides

Maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures

Logistics – delivering kits to hospital theatres as required

Stock Control

Adhering to all stock control processes


Competencies Required

Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)

Proactive and operates with a sense of urgency

Customer service orientation and information monitoring

Strong planning and organising skills

Attention to detail and deliver work of a high and accurate standard

Able to work independently and under pressure

Able to work as part of a team

Energetic and positive, highly self-motivated
