Job Overview
Main Purpose of Job:
The Stock Controller is responsible for the effective control, monitoring, and accuracy of inventory within a regulated medical device environment. Reporting to the Stores Manager, this role focuses primarily on ensuring strict stock control, system accuracy, and inventory integrity across all warehouses and consignment locations
The successful candidate will be highly computer literate, detail-oriented, and experienced in stock management practices. The role requires proactive monitoring of stock movements, expiry dates, backorders, and branch inventory queries to ensure optimal stock control and compliance with internal procedures and regulatory standards
While the primary focus is stock control, the role will also support general stores operations as required

- Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Excel and inventory systems
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Must be a South African citizen
- Based full-time at the Johannesburg West Rand office
- Willing to assist with general warehouse duties as required
Minimum Qualifications
- NQF Level 5 Certificate or
- Relevant stock control experience within a medical device company
Minimum Experience Level
- Minimum 1 years’ experience in a stock control, inventory management, or warehouse environment
- Experience within a regulated or medical device environment is highly advantageous

Duties & Responsibilities:
Inventory Control & Stock Management
- Conduct scheduled and ad hoc stock takes.
- Perform regular cycle counts and investigate stock variances
- Monitor and manage expiry dates, ensuring proactive action on short-dated stock
- Investigate and resolve consignment stock queries
- Manage and process warehouse transfers accurately
- Maintain accurate system records of all stock movements
- Ensure all stock is correctly labelled, stored, and traceable in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Liaise with branches regarding stock discrepancies, stock levels, and stock control queries
- Assist with monitoring and communicating backorders
- Identify slow-moving, damaged, or obsolete stock and report to management
Operational & Stores Support
- Pick stock accurately according to company procedures
- Assist with general stores duties as required
- Support receiving, checking, and storing incoming stock
- Ensure all documentation (delivery notes, picking slips, and transfer documents) is completed and filed correctly
- Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant warehouse environment
Systems & Reporting
- Ensure stock control systems are maintained with high levels of accuracy
- Use inventory software and spreadsheets to monitor stock levels and discrepancies
- Assist in improving stock control processes and internal controls
- Provide stock reports and variance analysis to the Stores Manager when required
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with internal SOPs, ISO requirements, and Good Distribution Practice (GDP)
- Maintain audit-ready documentation
- Follow health and safety procedures relating to medical device storage and handling
