Job Overview
Requirements:
- Must be in possession of a Grade 12 Certificate
- A Sales qualification would be advantageous
- A minimum of 5 years relevant practical sales experience gained within the Western
- Cape
- Exposure to the building trade and/or body corporate and/or commercial property environment would be advantageous

- Willingness to learn and adapt quickly to the building/paint industry
- Must be able to quickly understand and develop a strong technical knowledge of industry practices and terminology
- Ability to build strong professional relationships and network with a variety of industry stakeholders
- Need to have the emotional intelligence to adapt and deal with different personality types whilst managing politics
- Must be results driven and have a passion for sales
- Must be a team player and willing to work together with colleagues and support staff
- Honesty, integrity and punctuality is crucial for success
- Ability to deal with customers at all levels. From boardroom to site
- Financial understanding during business transactions
- Computer literacy and proper working knowledge of MS Office computer packages to compile emails, technical specifications and quotes. Knowledge of MS Excel is vital
- Ability to deal with a large workload whilst prioritising and scheduling without dropping the ball
- High customer service standards with excellent negotiation skills
- Must be innovative, pro-active and think outside the box in a fast developing and ever-changing market place

Duties & Responsibilities:
- To increase the Company’s market share by strategically targeting industry stakeholders i.e. managing agents, Body corporates, Asset owners, Property Groups and networking with large redecoration contractors and 3rd Party Specifiers
- Sales generated will be largely new business
- Achievement of set sales targets
- Attending to customer needs
- Completion of a monthly call report which includes daily and weekly planning
- New business development and maintenance thereof
- Build good professional relationships with all industry stakeholders whilst managing complex industry politics
- Compile professional paint specifications, read building plans, conduct quantity estimations and prepare quotations
- Conduct site visits, quality control and compile related technical reports
- Present corporate presentations, host professional site meetings, and body corporate/trustee meetings
- Provide colour guidance and technical advice to customers
