Main Purpose of Job:
Our Client, A Hospital Group has a vacancy for a Registered Nurse – Paediatric ICU Trained based in Bellville
Requirements:
- Matric
- Current Registered with SANC as a Registered Nurse
- Post Basic Qualification in Critical Care General (Certificate or Diploma)
- Minimum 2 -3 years proven experience as a Registered Nurse in Paediatric ICU
- Shift work compulsory and work overtime when required
- Be flexible and willing to assist in other departments
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Clinical Competence and Strong quality patient care orientation
- Demonstrate passion for children and their parents / carers
- BLS competent
- Supervise and orientate junior staff members and students
- High energy levels and tolerance for stress
- Focus on Quality patient care
- Good work management, planning and organizing skills
- Problem analysis/solving skills and accurate record keeping
- Adaptable and able to work effectively within a team
- Ability to render basic and advanced nursing care without supervision
- Detail orientated especially with regards to stock control
- Liaison between patients, doctors and personnel
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels
- Knowledge and insight into infection prevention principles
- Knowledge of scientific nursing process
- Safe administration of medication and knowledge of management of schedule medication
- Promote and maintain patient health and give health education to parents and patients
- Able to complete patient assessments, compiling and implantation of appropriate nursing care plans
- Assist the Paediatrician during ward rounds
- Adhere to hospital policies, protocols and best practices
- Ad hoc duties
