Main Purpose of Job:

 

The Product Manager will be responsible for:

Developing, implementing and maintaining the marketing and communication strategy, and the tactics for products within their portfolio.

Providing digital support on promoted brands.

Functional/Technical Skills or Industry Experience

  • Matric
  • Completed science related degree
  • Knowledge of Pharma and Healthcare industry
  • Minimum of 5 years in an related role
  • Minimum of 5 years as Product Manager.
  • Knowledge of marketing regulations and compliance. Exceptional leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proven track record of success in brand/product management.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent financial acumen, including P&L management experience.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong MS Office skills

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

Marketing execution

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies, tactical plans and marketing   communications in accordance with business strategies in commercial, channel and portfolio area.
  • Develop effective communication messages with patient disease focus.
  • Build and implement strong tactical plans for promoted brands.
  • Ensure effective launch execution of allocated launch brands with a strong focus on quick to market introduction.

 

Marketing campaigns

  • Lead, prepare and implement innovative and measurable marketing campaigns and initiatives in line with marketing plans; track performance and recommend necessary changes to optimise performance of the marketing function.
  • Create high-quality, relevant, and engaging content for various digital channels (e.g., blog posts, social media updates, email newsletters).
  • Communicate, collaborate, coordinate and seek approval on marketing activities with top management.

 

Data analytics

  • Effective use of quantitative and qualitative market data and business intelligence to develop marketing plans, tactical plans, campaigns and initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate marketing tactics and make recommendations to management based on the interpretation of results and brand/market knowledge.
  • Contribute to marketing plan by utilising and building upon knowledge of the brand history, heritage and evolution.
  • Assist with portfolio gap analysis, forecasting and business development.
  • Communicate information about the market and insights to support with brand strategy.

Relationship Management

  • Partner closely with functions that are integral to the brand’s/molecule’s success.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with KOL’s where appropriate.
  • Network to gain a good market understanding of the healthcare environment, current and future competitor actions.
  • Actively seek feedback from key players.

 

People management

  • Coach, train and develop sales representatives in building a strong, progressive and motivated work team as well as providing team leadership.
  • Exhibit ongoing effectiveness in coaching staff to detail disease/brand messages.
  • Meet and exceed established sales goals, effectively lead the team to improve capabilities through sales force capabilities and learning and development forums.

Marketing budget

  • Ensure tight, effective management and control of marketing S&P spend.
  • Effective measurement of ROI for marketing initiatives.

 

Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) Reporting

  • Ensuring you are familiar with the ADR reporting process and if not, seeking guidance from the Pharmacovigilance Officer
  • Report any ADR within the 24-hours from date and time of the ADR being brought to your attention.
  • Report the ADR through the correct channels as per the process.
  • Attending compulsory training held annually by Accord and ensuring successful result of the test written subsequent to the training. Failure of test will result in a rewrite. Failure in rewrite will result in retraining.

 

General

  • Oversee the development and provision of all marketing material.
  • Ensure compliance with the relevant legislation and codes of conduct.
  • Ensure a high level of professionalism and service with external and internal customers, enhancing the company image at all times through consistent communication of the company’s image and position.
  • Manage consultants and marketing and promotion agencies.
  • Provide top management with relevant input in business reviews and annual planning sessions.
