Requirements:
- BCur Nursing degree/diploma
- Current South African Nursing Council (SANC) registration mandatory
- BTech in Occupational Health
- Dispensing certificate
- Expert knowledge of the, Mine Health and Safety Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS Act), Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems and ISO/IEC 17020-201
- Certificate in audiometry, spirometry, and vision screening
- Computer proficiency – MS Office, SAP or similar
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Occupational Health
The main purpose of this position:
Responsible for the management of occupational health services including primary health care, dispensing, stakeholder engagement, and providing ongoing reports and management of clinic staff
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform all duties in accordance with South African Nursing Council (SANC), Department of Health (DOH) and National Core Standards
- Ability to carry out examinations and procedures in term of the governing legislation for occupational health
- Conduct all types of medical fitness assessments, pre-employment, transfer and annual and exit
- Assist with primary health care management
- Manage and appropriate referrals of minor injuries on duty
- Performance of audiometry, spirometry, and vision screening and highlighting significant abnormalities to the Occupational Medical Practitioner
- Assisting Clinic Manager with monthly reports and audits
- Perform standby duties
