An account manager will be responsible for a variety of tasks including project management, coordination, strategic planning, relationship management, negotiation, leadership and innovative development of opportunities. The key account manager will demonstrate a strong commitment to upholding the Vision, Mission, and Core Values of the company in all aspects of the role.

 

Job Description

Client Relationship Management:

 

    • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients.
    • Serve as the main point of contact for key accounts and understand their business objectives, challenges, and opportunities.

 

Account development:

 

    • Identify and pursue upselling and cross-selling opportunities within existing accounts.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and present proposals, ensuring they align with clients’ needs and objectives.
    • Ensure key account customers are visited on a regular basis.

 

 

 

Strategic Planning:

 

    • Develop and implement strategic account plans to achieve revenue and growth targets.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and competitors to identify new opportunities and challenges.

 

Customer satisfaction:

 

    • Monitor and ensure customer satisfaction by proactively addressing issues, resolving concerns, and consistently delivering high-quality products or services.
    • All pricing needs to be collated and distributed to preferred clients and to NHLS.

 

Communication:

 

    • Effectively communicate the value proposition of the company’s products or services to key clients.
    • Provide regular updates to clients on new features, offerings, or changes that may impact their business.
    • Constant communication and feedback to the Group Sales Manager, Product Manager and CEO.
    • Coordination of sales activities (including comms with sales reps visiting the preferred client)

 

Collaboration with Internal Teams:

 

    • Work closely with sales, marketing, and product development teams to align strategies and ensure a cohesive approach in serving key accounts.
    • Work in conjunction with operations, including supply chain, sales coordinators and procurement departments.
    • Communicate clearly the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to the relevant internal staff

 

Contract Negotiation:

 

    • Negotiate and renew contracts, ensuring terms are favourable for both the client and the company.
    • Collaborate with legal and finance teams to finalize agreements.

 

Forecasting and Reporting:

 

    • Provide accurate and timely sales forecasts, reporting on key account metrics.
    • Analyse data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement

 

Perform other reasonable job-related duties as may be assigned by management.

 

Minimum Requirements

Education:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, marketing, or a related field
  • Proven experience in key account management, preferably in a relevant industry.

 

Experience:

 

  • Have at least 3 years’ experience in laboratory practice
  • Have at least 5 years’ experience in selling and/or account management.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Strong understanding of the products or services offered by the company.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to develop and execute account plans.
  • Results-oriented with a focus on meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A valid code 08 driver’s license
  • A valid South African identity book or passport
  • Ability to travel when require
  • Wiliness to be trained
