JOB PURPOSE
Our client based in Cape Town is seeking to employ an experienced ICT Systems Engineer to bolster our ICT department, with the view to support and develop the company’s users, clients, stakeholders etc., and to assist with the expansion of our ICT infrastructure
Given that the company is a high output / outcome environment, the successful candidate must be able to work in a team, and function independently, to perform a variety of functions within the ICT and related field
The candidate must have a passion for the non-profit sector, and drive efficiency and cost savings to contribute to the success of the company
The position is responsible for collaborating with all the divisions across our business network, to install, manage, analyze, and diagnose computer issues, monitor processing functions, install relevant software and perform tests on computer equipment and applications when necessary
The ICT Technician will also train the company’s employees, clients, and other users on any new programs, platforms or functionality
FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
FFSA’s Business Network:
Install and configure software and computer systems
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with software or hardware
Assist colleagues, clients, and stakeholders etc. to resolve technical problems
Ensure the proper implementation of new solutions or applications
Establish accounts for new users and assist with password or login problems
Provide support for the company’s PABX and its users
Maintain and support the company’s CCTV infrastructure and systems
Respond timely to service issues and requests from end users, management, clients etc.
Support all end users using the company’s applications and software, including ERP,
Microsoft Office 365 etc.
Support end users interacting with custom web-based platforms running various front end and backend processes
ICT Technical Administration:
Manage, expand, and improve Office 365 services for the company, to ensure we enjoy the full benefits of the platform offering
Monitor and ensure user compliance with all of the company’s ICT policies, and any other policies relating to ICT
Maintain ICT procedures and protocols, and provide technical support and input to the staff
Analyze data, records and logs to spot underlying trends and potential issues – apply corrective measures
Document and maintain the company’s ICT digital and physical files regarding all networks, systems, processes, policies etc.
Obtain quotes form external service providers for any and all relevant services and support
Implement cost savings for the company where possible and continuously evaluate ways in which the company can reduce costs and build greater efficiencies
Collaborate with the company’s external ICT service providers and ensure they deliver their services timeously
Website administration and development
Training / Induction:
Provide the necessary ICT induction for all new staff and provide the necessary support
Conduct surveys on a regular basis to ensure that staff have the ICT support they need, receive the necessary training they need, and apply corrective action, where necessary
Provide training and support to all of the company’s clients, stakeholders, as and when needed, to ensure that they are adequately trained on any of the company’s user interfaces, platforms, software, technology etc., which is owned, managed, used, or implemented by the company
General:
Support the ICT manager in overseeing the work of all the ICT support staff, independent contractors, interns etc.
Run various reports for staff, clients, stakeholders etc. throughout our network as and when needed
Transfer ICT skills to staff, to ensure that they are competent with regard to ICT in their respective scope of work
Provide input to the company’s ICT Strategy, and ensure that targets are reached
REQUIREMENTS
At least 10 years’ proven, relevant experience in the ICT field
At least 5 years’ proven experience in managing a team
High level technical knowledge and expertise with a variety of software, hardware and applications
Well-versed in troubleshooting, analysis, networks and systems design
Bachelor degree in computer science, software engineering or related field
Ability to solve complex problems and see projects through to completion
Analytical skills to study problems and records and identify solutions
Team-oriented attitude to assist colleagues and teams with technical problems
Strong interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to manage time and effectively prioritize numerous projects at one time
Fast learner, with the ability to adapt to various circumstances and work environments
Up-to-date knowledge of the latest ICT technology and software trends
Microsoft Office 365 Implementation and Support Experience
Microsoft Dynamics Business Central ERP Support experience
Strong customer service ethic
