Job Description

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the company.
  • Manage and lead the different departments, e.g. Nursing, Pharmacy, Administration, Catering, Maintenance,
  • Marketing, Human Resources & IR, Security and Quality.
  • Ensure the creation and implementation of a strategy designed to grow the business.
  • Establish a great working relationship with the board of directors and set a course for company strategy.
  • Coordinate the development of key performance goals for functions and reports.
  • Provide direct management of key functional managers (Nursing, Pharmacy, Finance, HR, Hospital Services,
  • Marketing).
  • Ensure the development of tactical programs to pursue targeted goals and objectives.
  • Ensure the overall delivery and quality of the hospital’s offerings to patients.
  • Engage in key or targeted customer activities (Medical practitioners, Medical Aids).
  • Oversee key hiring and talent development programs.
  • Evaluate key investments in equipment, infrastructure, and talent.
  • Make high-level decisions about policy and strategy.
  • Report to the board of directors and keep them informed.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and a strategic plan.
  • Act as the primary spokesperson for the company.
  • Develop the company’s culture and overall company vision.
  • Create an environment that promotes great performance and positive morale.
  • Oversee the company’s fiscal activity, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing.
  • Work and communicate with key stakeholders, internal and external.
  • Assure all legal and regulatory documentation is available and to always mitigate risk with the Board.
  • Work with the Board to determine values and mission, and plan for short and long-term goals. (Strategic Plan).
  • Identify and address problems and opportunities for the company.
  • Build alliances and partnerships with other organizations.
  • Oversee the accounting and financial management function of the hospital.
  • Ensure that yearly operating and capital budgets are completed and measure performance against set targets.
  • Take responsibility for the financial performance of the hospital.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • At least 10 years’ experience as a General Manager in a leadership role within a private hospital setting.
  • International experience as a hospital manager will be advantageous.
  • Experience in Project, Facilities and Financial Management.
