JOB PURPOSE
Our client is looking for an experienced and energetic Registered Nurse to fulfil the role of Healthcare Coordinator based in the Somerset West Area
FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Daily clinic for village residents
Homebased care for village residents
Screen sub-acute patients in hospital prior to admission
Training and orientation of new staff
Medication Management
Assist in the healthcare as required
Handover
Administration
Emergencies
Annual visits to all village residents
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications – Registered Nurse qualification, SANC registered
Experience & Knowledge – Experience in medical/surgical nursing (sub-acute and long-term care), dementia care, frail care and palliative care
Skills & Attributes – Strong interpersonal skills, professional communication, ability to work under pressure, managerial skills, making sound decisions, computer literate, professional, focused, compassion for the elderly, be able to converse with people on different levels – staff, families, MDT and other professionals coming into the facility
Specific Requirements:
Own Transport
No criminal record
Solid and positive references
WORKING HOURS
Normal working days are Mondays to Fridays from 07h00 until 17h00
You will be required to be on standby one weekend per month to assist in the healthcare if needed
