External Inventory Controller

Job Purpose
The External Inventory Controller will control and make sure the company minimizes stock holding and maximizes stock based on the customers’ needs. He/She will control the inventory system and paperwork in an accurate manner. He/She will carry the responsibility to assist in ordering the products. He/She will have a direct responsibility in the management of the stock to ensure the necessary functions are carried out correctly. The job may include other reasonable duties/tasks from time to time.

 

Job Functions:

  1. Stock Control, Co-Ordination & Rotation
    Completing physical consignment stock checks at hospitals in and around Gauteng, including any outlying areas
    Organizing stock in the hospitals by period to expiry, per product range and business unit
    Liaise directly with company representatives with regards to stock issues in hospitals
    Accompany company representatives to hospitals to do their stock checks
    Assist Invoicing department with problems, which they have difficulties with in terms of stock queries
    Re-labeling of stock at the hospitals when required
    Manage the rotation of stock based on the soon to expire report
    Minimising stock write off through effective rotation and levels management
    Monitor and manage excess inventory, slow-moving and obsolete stock
    Maintaining optimum inventory levels
  2. Deliveries
    Ad-Hoc deliveries of emergency stock in the Gauteng region.
    Assist with deliveries in the absence of a driver.
  3. Endovascular KITS
    Assist with the daily delivery of KITS, if required
    Assist with the daily movement of KITS between hospitals, if required
  4. Administration
    Submit consignment check sheets to the Senior External Inventory Controller.
    Filing of consignment stock check sheets.
    Updating information and providing feedback on the soon to expire and rotations reports and schedules.
    Completes a daily log sheet for each trip and or delivery.
  5. Policies and Procedures
    All company policies and procedures are adhered to in the performance of duties
    Initiative is used in suggesting suitable amendments to existing policies and procedures and identifying new policies and procedures that require implementation

Education, Knowledge And Skills Required:

  • Matric
  • Relevant industry experience dealing with Gauteng hospitals and hospital staff (Advantageous)
  • Relevant medical sales and/or marketing experience (Advantageous)
  • Pastel Evolution experience (Advantageous)
  • Basic Excel
  • Good communication skills (Verbal & Written)
  • Time management abilities
  • Team player
  • Quick learner
  • Valid driver’s license (Requirement)
  • Reliable means of transport
