Enrolled Nurse (Trauma Ward) – Berea (Natal)

The Corporate Actions Manager sits within Operations department and reports directly to the Head of Operations

This role also works closely with the Settlements (Securities & Non-Cash) and Banking & Cash Settlements teams

This role is responsible for managing the Corporate Actions team to ensure correct and effective processing of local and international corporate actions and event management

This role is also responsible to ensure mitigating risk of erroneous capturing of all Corporate Actions

Key Performance Areas will include but not limited to:

  • Ensuring all processing of local and international corporate actions on all securities
  • Ensuring monthly DWT submissions to SARS (local) / IRS (US)
  • Managing all proxy requirements
  • Managing all elections
  • Improving automated corporate action processing
  • Ensuring Transfer Secretarial Services
  • Ensuring daily SOH submitted timeously each day to Strate
  • Management of all monthly reporting requirements
  • Instrument management
  • Managing a small corporate actions team (day-to-day management of responsibilities, as well as performance management, leave approvals, etc)
  • Ensuring coverage of team members for the core tasks of the corporate actions function (some tasks may need coverage outside of SA business hours)
  • Other Ad hoc tasks relevant to the role

Job-Related Skills & Education

  • Tertiary qualification
  • 5+ years’ experience in Corporate Actions
  • 3+ years’ experience in a Corporate Actions managerial role
  • Proficient in MS Office with proficiency in MS Excel
  • Knowledge of Strate, JSE events and international markets in respect of corporate events
