Unit Manager – ICU – Hospital Group – Kimberley, Northern Cape
Requirements:
A relevant nursing qualification ( B Cur Degree/ or relevant management qualification)
Must have a post basic ICU qualification
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as a Unit Manager/shift leader
Experience working in ICU
Compliance with the SANC code for a Registered Nurse and all applicable health care legislations
Compulsory BLS certification
Computer Literacy
Knowledge on Kronos will be beneficial
Flexible in working hours/Shifts
The main purpose of this position:
The Unit Manager will also be responsible for monitoring and ensuring that quality nursing care and service delivery is implemented and practiced within a multidisciplinary team
In accordance, the Unit Manager will be accountable and responsible for coordinating capacity building, mentoring, coaching, training and development in his / her unit
Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensure that your unit is providing safe, cost-effective quality patient care in line
with the clinical governance strategy of Lenmed / hospital and evidence-based practice
Evaluate the patient’s journey via patient experience and stakeholder contribution
Evaluate and monitor nursing quality indicators and clinical outcomes
Communicate effectively with patients regarding their care
Promote health and wellbeing of patients and employees
Ensure the principles of infection prevention and all international standard precautions are adhered to
Implement group quality initiatives
Liaise with public liability regarding all incidents of potential risk to the business
