Main Purpose of Job:

Our Client, A Hospital Group has a vacancy for a Registered Nurse – Paediatric ICU Trained based in Bellville

Requirements:

• Matric
• Current Registered with SANC as a Registered Nurse
• Post Basic Qualification in Critical Care General (Certificate or Diploma)
• Minimum 2 -3 years proven experience as a Registered Nurse in Paediatric ICU
• Shift work compulsory and work overtime when required
• Be flexible and willing to assist in other departments

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Clinical Competence and Strong quality patient care orientation
• Demonstrate passion for children and their parents / carers
• BLS competent
• Supervise and orientate junior staff members and students
• High energy levels and tolerance for stress
• Focus on Quality patient care
• Good work management, planning and organizing skills
• Problem analysis/solving skills and accurate record keeping
• Adaptable and able to work effectively within a team
• Ability to render basic and advanced nursing care without supervision
• Detail orientated especially with regards to stock control
• Liaison between patients, doctors and personnel
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels
• Knowledge and insight into infection prevention principles
• Knowledge of scientific nursing process
• Safe administration of medication and knowledge of management of schedule medication
• Promote and maintain patient health and give health education to parents and patients
• Able to complete patient assessments, compiling and implantation of appropriate nursing care plans
• Assist the Paediatrician during ward rounds
• Adhere to hospital policies, protocols and best practices
• Ad hoc duties
