The Unit Manager will also be responsible for monitoring and ensuring that Quality nursing care and service delivery is implemented and practiced within a multi-disciplinary team In accordance, the Unit Manager will be accountable and responsible for coordinating capacity building, mentoring, coaching, training and development in his / her unit The Unit manager will also be responsible for theatre specific accreditation, cardiac program management and internal audits
Requirements:
A relevant nursing qualification (B Cur Degree/ or relevant management qualification)
A post basic qualification in Theatre
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as a Unit Manager/shift leader in Theatre
Compliance with the SANC code for a Registered Nurse and all applicable health care legislations
Compulsory BLS certification
Advanced Computer Literacy
Knowledge and experience on Kronos will be beneficial
Flexible in working hours/Shifts
Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensure that your unit is providing safe, cost-effective quality patient care in line with the clinical governance strategy of Lenmed / hospital and evidence-based practice
Evaluate the patient’s journey via patient experience and stakeholder contribution
Evaluate and monitor nursing quality indicators and clinical outcomes
Communicate effectively with patients regarding their care
Promote health and wellbeing of patients and employees
Ensure the principles of infection prevention and all international standard precautions are adhered to
Implement group quality initiatives
Liaise with public liability regarding all incidents of potential risk to the business
Managing cost, staffing within the legal framework
